Data check
Once a week SpeciesHub automatically checks all observations for likely slips: values far outside the usual range for the species and observation type, values that contradict each other, and measurements smaller than at an earlier visit. No person reads your observations, and nothing is changed; you decide what to correct.
How to check
- Open Settings > Data check.
- Tap a chip to see one kind of finding at a time.
- Tap a finding to open its site, then edit the observation. The flagged value shows a hint.
A corrected finding stays in the list, marked Edited, until the next weekly check.
Get the most out of it
- Act on the notification. You get one only when the weekly check finds something new.
- Unusual is not always wrong. If a value is correct, leave it; you will not be notified about it again.
- Watch the hints while entering data. The forms and the import flag the same values, so slips are caught before they are saved.
- You see what you can edit: your observations, the ones you created, and your group's if you are its admin. Findings in data shared with you go to its owner.
